- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)young stock is concerned. There is no fair-green in the town of Keadue, so therefore all the selling and buying is done on an old by-road at the back of the town.
The man who buys any animals has always to pay the toll, - or custom-money as it is called in this locality. This money is paid at a place called the custom-gap after the animals have been bought. These animals are driven out on this gap off the fair-green, when their owners are ready to go home with them. There are usually two or three men at this spot to whom the various people pay their custom. These men are called custom-men. The money that these men get in this way, has to be paid as rent to the Government for the upkeep of the fair-green.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
