- Caldra is an old local placename. The place is in the townland of Cartron about a quarter of a mile from Crossna Chruch. During the Famine times about ten people were buried there. The tracks of the graves are to be seen to this day, beside Michael Cullen's house of Crossna.
Kilfaughna got its name from a giant called Faughna that was buried there. In this place there are two large stones, one of them at the top of his grave and another at the bottom It is said that the length of the giant was twenty one feet.- Bailitheoir
