“A man named Hogan calls to our home every Christmas.”
A man named Hogan calls to our home every Christmas. He is supposed to be from Connamara and is supposed to be an Irish speaker. He is coming here these twelve years to Portlaoighise. He is very poor and sometimes he earns some money singing Irish songs.
Every Christmas when he comes to Portlaoighise he is welcomed by all the people. Some of the men bring him in to a public house and set him drunk and then he sings some old Irish songs. He stops here all through the Christmas, and he is supposed to sleep in an old barn some distance from Portlaoighise.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
