  1. About 55 years ago there was a terrible wind. Slates were blown off houses, galvanized roofs off sheds, trees were uprooted, wall knocked down and many persons were injured.
    About 50 years ago there was a thunder storm, cattle were killed in Ballykielly; cocks and ricks of hay were burned.
    About 50 years ago there was a flood and it took away the Gullie bridge between Ballacolla and Abbeyleix.
    At the same time there was a snow storm. The snow was ten feet high. Sheep and cattle and horses were lost.
    About 53 years ago there was a terrible drought for about three months.
    About forty five years ago there was terrible rain that washed potato seed and manure out of
