  1. Mr. Fletcher, Durrow, was one of the most famous jumpers in Ireland. He jumped nine feet.
    The police were taking Mr. Donely, Ballacolla to jail handcuffed. At Bally jeehan on the side of the road he gave three jumps - no one could get as far with three jumps. He asked the police to give him leave to give three leaps as they came up to where the road-menders were working to show how far he was able to go with handcuffs on. He jumped 27 yards.
    John Cashin, Aghaboe was one of the most famous hurlers in Ireland.
    Mick Delaney, Pamershill, Aghaboe mowed an Irish acre of grass in one day. He and his brother Louis mowed 80 acres in a short time.
    Aby Turner, Kilcotton was a famous step-dancer.
