  2. People long ago used two meals a day. Their breakfast which consisted of porridge and otencakes. Also their dinner. Sometimes they received nothing until evening.
    In some districts people used their dinner in the evening about seven o'clock which consisted of potatoes, buttermilk, and onions.
    The people got up very early in the morning they were up with the lark and out hunting through the fields sometimes to earn their breakfast.
    When people could not earn their meals they used potatoes and otencakes baked on a griddle.
    Another very wholesome food was
