  2. A Hiden Treasure
    People of the olden days hid money and valuable articles to protect them because the Cromwelians used to go about from house to house robbing rich people or the people who had valuable prizes in their possession.
    It is said that when the Cromwellians were in Ireland in 1798 there was a monastery in Kilrush. When the Cromwellians came to Kildare they ran the nuns out and destroyed the sacred vessels. The nuns fled to Kilrush and there, they were massacred.
    It is said that when the Cromwellians killed the nuns they threw the sacred vessels into a well near by.
