  1. In Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan, the people used to make St. Brigids crosses. The cross was made of rushes and the size was about six and a half inches long and five and a half inches broad. Sometimes the cross was kept and hung over the door.
    Holly is hung up about a week before Christmas and sometimes ivy is hung up with it.
