  1. There was an old hedge school in Hoey's House, Drumass, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan. The Teacher in it was Mr. Callan, Drumass, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan. He taught three of the Duffys, of Drumass, Inniskeen, Co Monaghan.
    There was also another hedge school. It was called the "Quigley" school, because there were five Quigleys going to it. They used to write on slates with pencils. The name of the teacher was Miss Brennan, Drumass, Inniskeen, Co. Monaghan.
