Thatching was an old trade in this district at one time. There are not many thatched houses in the county, now, however, because most of the people have slated houses these days. The custom of thatching is not much use now. But still there are a few thatched houses in this district, because the old people did not like to have them knocked, and because they were used to them.3.
Every farmer had his own lime-kiln in this locality long ago, because when they had no artificial manures, they used lme instead. But these kilms are not in use now, except a few here and there.
