  1. When the sun is shining and there is a rainbow out it is the sign of showers. When the clouds are running fast across the sky it is the sign of rain. When (there is) the clouds are a purple colour it is the sign of rain and thunder. When (a) a burlew is calling it is the sign of rain. Rain in the morning is the shepards warning, rain in the night is the night is shepards delight.
