This well is situated in the townsland of Danesfort and it is also in the Parish of Danesfort. It is about a mile from the road in a bog. The chapel is on the eastern side of the well. It is said that while saying mass a priest was killed by Cromwells soldiers. The blood of the priest is supposed to be on the stones in the bottom of the well. The people take them home with them. There are five bushes growing over the well, and there are three steps going down to it. It is about three feet deep. The water from the well flows by means of a shore to a little stream near by. On the fifteenth of August the pattern is held there yet. It continues for nine days.
