    The weather may be judged by the behaviour of the birds and of the animals. When the swallows are flying low it is a sign of bad weather, when they are flying high it is a sign of good weather. The weather may also be judged by the crow, when they are flying high around the woods and cawing it is also a sign of bad weather. If the smoke is going up straight out of the chimney it is a sign of good weather if it is coming down to the ground it is a sign of rain.
