    The banshee was described to me once as a little woman dressed in a white cap and borders and a black cloak down to the ground. She appeared around some houses at nightfall but only certain people could see or hear her.
    Only the "great" families were visited by the Banshee and her crying was a sign of a death of a member of the family.
    Flanagans of Tomona and the Kellys of Rathcroghan were two families reputed to have a banshee.
