  1. My Home District
Rathmore is the name of my townland. Kiltrustan is the Parish and Roscommon is the Barony. There are eleven familes in the townland and about thirty people. Kelly is the most common name in it. There are seven slated and four thatched ones. There are very few old - about two. They do not know Irish. They cannot tell stories in Irish but they can tell them in English. Their names are Thomas Warren and Nora Cregg of Rathmore, Kiltrustan, Co. Roscommon. There are five more houses now than in former times. There are two in ruins Furey's house and Flanagan's. The Furery's were to live in a cottage and the Flanagan's left the District altogether and went to live outside Strokestown.
Numbers of people emigrated from here to America, England and Scotland in former years. The land in this townland is pretty good; very little of it is boggy
