    There is an old woman buried on the canal bank in Derrymullen and there is a big black dog seen at her grave every night.

    black dog seen at her grave every night. The woman drowned herself at Derrymullen bridge. When they found her they did not know where to bury her. At last one man said that they would tie a straw rope around her and pull her along they did so and the rope broke just on the canal bank at the lie-by.
