    They were lots of ruins of old houses in Shanacluan some time ago but they were all rooted up long ago and the stones were used for other purposes.
    Long ago it was a great custom for the people in this townland to go to America to work. Sometimes three or four people went there out of the same house
    The name of Shanacluan was never mentioned in a song or story
    There are two small lakes in Shanacluan. One in John Cahill's field which is called Poll a mhada and another in James Cahill's field.
