- How "Killeag" got its name.
Killeagh means "Cill Fhíacha" or the church of Fiaca.
There is a form of a church in Killeagh called the Killeens. In ancient time people used give rounds there on Good Friday.
A saint was punished and his punishment was to build a church in a place called "Kill- something", but he was not told the second part of the name. He was about to build it in Killeagh, when a voice spoke and said, that was not the place but another Kill.
There is also a well in Killeagh called "Tobar na croidhe and it was said there was a cure in the water if it was taken, before sunrise or after sunset.
