    Bragan is a very large townland.

    Another place is known as "Leac an tSagairt where a priest was shot saying mass in Penal days. Bragan took its name from a fairy's shoe which was found in it. "Bróg an Shee"
    There is a large quantity of bog in the townland and the people of the locality draw home a good supply of the best quality.
    The broad road which runs from Monaghan to Clogher passes through the lower end of the townland. The school is situated on a rising ground above it. There are 26 families living in it and they all have very good houses. Some are reconstructed and some are built new.
    There is a family lives in it called the Campbells. They have a field called "Pulla Folla." It took its name from a hole which they used for bleeding cattle. They have another field called "Park a Ranny" which means the field of the Brackens
