    twelve feet round and twelve feet deep. It is about a foot wide at the bottom and is becoming wider as it goes up, until it reaches the level of the ground. The were bars in the bottom out through which burned lime passed. The kiln would hold about twenty barrels of lime. Every wealthy farmer had his own kiln and they burned and used their own lime.
