  2. Leaves
    Plantain leaves are used for keeping a cloth from sticking to a cut and as well as that it helps to heal the cut. It is sometimes known as a "healing leaf".
    Nettles are used as a cure for the measles. The leaves are boiled in water and then the juice is strained. Then the boiled leaves are eaten. The juice is also drunk to purify the blood.
    When turkeys are about six weeks old nettles are chopped and put through their food to bring on the red heads. During the famine the people used to drink nettle soup.
