   One morning fair to take the air all in the present year Unto the town of Carrickmacross My course I chanced to steer. The first thing took by notice, Going round by Laragh mill Was the spinning wheel going to the Dee'l, She is lying idle still. The spindles are out of order And the hands they are all east I'm told she had been idle Since the 9th of December last. it will take some oil likewise some toil Before she works lint on tow She'll have to get some handy boys Up from the Sandy Row. With all their skill this great old mill May fall unto the ground Before she's in working order It'll take some hundred pounds It'll take all their plans to raise new hands Likewise their wit and skill Before they raise such honest stock About old Laragh mill
