  1. There is only one tailor in this district, his name is Frank Donnelly. He lives in Lisdungormal, Parish of Clontibret. He does not work at home, but in Castle-Blayney, Co. Monaghan. When people want to get clothes made, they have to bring the material with them, as he doesn't stock it. The cloth is not spun locally, and there are many different types of cloths used as, Tweed, serge, flannel, woollen etc:
Strange to relate there isn't any traditional sayings about tailors. In every tailor's house, there is a large machine, with which he sews, also large pairs of scissors. Scarcely any shirts are made locally, but if they are they are not of home-spun cloth. The socks are knitted by the old women of the Parish, but the wool is not spun at home.
Different types of clothes are worn at deaths, festivals etc:. Black is generally worn at deaths, and a variety of colours at feasts.
