- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)The most famous well in Kerry is in Tubrid in the parish of Ardfert. It is called "Wether's Well". It has been for many years an object of great devotion throughout Kerry and the surrounding counties. Not many wells in the country are so generally visited for "paying rounds".
The following story is told about that well. - When Brendan was being baptised by Bishop Erc three purple or dark-red wethers leaped out of the fountain of his baptism.
Another story says that it was during the time of the penal laws, when the faith of the people was banned, and a price put on the head of the Priest, some religious celebration, at which there were three priests present, was being held in the hollow, or low ground(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
