    Sir John Godfrey of Killcoleman Abbey, Milltown is supposed to have buried a chest of gold in a field near the village. The gold was buried in a hole in the middle of the field. Over the spot where the gold is buried a tree grows.
    When the man who buried the gold returned home, he was shot dead by Sir John so that he could not tell where it was buried.
