The colder the feet water is the better it is for the feet. It was a common sight to see a bath of water brought in at night, and each member of the family washed his or her feet. Then the bath of water was carefully emptied so that the fairies would not have any power over the people of the house.
Boots were made here locally. There is one shoe maker in Tarbert at present, but long(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
