The fragrance of June blooming early
With Flora's proud mantle be spread
    With violets, cowslips and daisies
And lilies and roses so red.
It is healing to many diseases
    Consumption at shortness of breath.
We hear from the peer to the peasant
Its odour restores them to health
    The beautiful salmon comes prancing
Advancing the foot of the rock.
    Numbers of warbling songsters
In concert around it do flock.
The chittering prate of the parrot
The blackbird, the partridge and quail.
    Joined by the tuneful amusement
    Of cuckoo, thrush and nightingale
Go search the whole county of Leitrim.
I care not what part high or low.
To equal the beauties I state of
    Its praiseworthy ornaments show.
More charm will add to its beauty
The improvements done by Mr Knott
    Three lofty mills he erected
    Together in under one spot
