Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)whitethorn, and it had no thorns growing on it. (Some people hold the view locally that a bush standing alone, and having thorns on it is not a real "lone bush"). It was called by the people a "Station Bush" - whatever that means I don't know. However Pee came this day with an axe, and started to cut the bush. John Conifry who lived near saw him, and shouted to him not to cut it, that it was a Station Bush. Pee only laughed at John, and asked him was he so silly as to believe in old woman's talk like that. Pee was a returned Yankee and didn't believe in the old remarks about lone bushes so he cut it and brought it home.
The following day Pee got sick and he never rose off his sick bed till he was brought from it dead. He died in about a month afterwards.
John Conifry died a few years ago.
