    which take place most frequently during shrove. The month of May is considered unlucky for marriage and the days of the week that are best for marriages are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are considered unlucky for marriages and rarely do marriages take place on Sunday. The following little rhime which is handed down from one generation to another carries on the old belief with regard to the lucky and unlucky days. Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses and Saturday no day at all.
