  1. I live in the parish of Ballinakill and in the barony of Ballinahinch and in the townsland of Currywongane. Currywongane was so called because it is situated at the end of a Muing. There are three dwelling houses in the village now and a population of twelve. When my father was going to school there was eleven houses in the village and a population of ninety six people. There was Murrays, Joyces, Duffy, Diamond, Gavan, Lyden, Thornton and four families of Coynes. The first person who owned the village was a man named Kilalley. All the old people who lived in the village are dead and all the young people are gone to America. All the houses were thatched long ago. Two of the hosues are thatched and one is slated now. There is a wood int he village and it is called the Plantation because it was planted by a man named Henry. There is a lake called Loch a tSagairt. It was called loch a tSagairt because it belonged to an English man long ago. Seán an th .. is so
