  1. In Loughatorick lake near Woodford there appears a water horse floating on the water every seven years. There is also a train seen at rare intervals.
    There is an island there and in ancient times an old man lived on it. He had a pack of fox hounds and one time when there was a terrible storm, he was unable to get food for them and they ate him. After many days the neighbours missed him and went in to see what was wrong. They found only his boots and two feet that were concealed in them. The ruins of his house are still to be seen on the island.
