   When the present owners of Malin Hall "got up in the world" they decided to transfer the bodies of their dead from the burial ground at Lagg to a vault which was specially prepared. This vault is in the grounds of Malin Hall not far from the Protestant Church. Their burial place at Lagg was adjourning to the Catholic burying place. Most of the Protestants who die in this Parish are still buried at this place. The Presbyterians are buried at their church locally called the "meeting house". As soon as the bodies were transferred eerie happenings noises and disturbances began to be frequent occurrence at Malin Hall. They sent for their minister in the hope that he could do something to quell the disturbed spirits but he was unable to do anything. Before he left however, he said to them "I know of only one man who can do anything for you and that is the wee man who lives down there in the trees". This was a Father Porter who lived at that time in a house now occupied by Michael McLaughlin (Carpenter) just above the town next to the Parochial House.
