Long ago when all things could speak, Trabridge or the deceitful strand said that it would never drown anybody.

Long long ago when all things could speak, ( "Trabreige or the deceitful strand" ) said that it would never drown anybody.
One day there came a man out from the "Sandy Banks" at Lagg and came up Trabreige. The tide was coming in and it followed him to the river at McShefferies bridge and from that to a field below Gortnacool called "tonn na baitheadh" (or "the drowning wave" ) where it drowned him.
