- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)A Funny StoryOnce upon a time there was an old man who lived all by himself. One day some of the young boys of the place gave him whiskey and made him drank. He then fell into a deep sleep and while he was asleep the boys carried him into a coal mine.When he woke up he looked around him in dismay. They told him he was in hell and they would release him for 5/-. The poor man thought he was now doomed forever and he gladly gave them the 5/-. But they told him that he must drink the "waters of hell" before he could be released. So they gave him more whiskey. The poor old man once again fell into a death like sleep. While he was got asleep they carried him out of the mine and left him in his own home.The next Sunday the old man went to Mass. The priest began to preach and he concluded with the words "Out of hell there is no redemption". "That's a lie "says the old man" for I was in hell and for 5/-. the devil released me".
