- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)In the olden times people only ate three in the day, the breakfast the dinner and the supper. The men got up at about six o' clock and worked until about eight o' clock and then got their breakfast. The people usually went to bed about ten o' clock.
At the breakfast the old people cook potatoes and milk or porridge and they took potatoes and milk for their dinner. Sometimes they milked some of their own cattle and salted it and unless for this they never got beef. Vegetables were not very much grown then.
Tea only came into use about eighty years ago but it was only used then in a very few places. On certain days then such as Halloween, Easter and Christmas the old people had tea for their supper.
