- There is a treasure hidden in Gleannacon about five miles west from Ballyheaffy school. This treasure is supposed to be hidden there by a woman named Betty Brennan who lived in olden times. She was the mother of the highwayman Willie Brennan who had a hidden treasure in the three Doons. Betty Brennan is called locally Beití ní Bhroin.
It is said that Willie Brennan never took even a penny from a poor person but gave some of the money he robbed from the rich to the poor and the rest he buried in "the three Doons" which lie about three miles east from the school. This treasure consists of gold. Many people used to look for it but they never succeeded in finding it because it is said that it is guarded by a red bull. It is said that Beití ní Bhroin's treasure is guarded by a woman in a red cloak. In her hand she holds a sword and with it she would cut off the head of anyone who would approach near the place.
Willie Brennan was captured and taken to Clonmel and was hanged there. When(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
