a spade and shovel and began to dig. After a while he turned up a box.
He opened the box in which there was a hammer, an awl, a last and nails but no gold. The was also a little bit of paper telling him to start "cobbling" shoes. The man started cobbling and after a few years he was as rich as the Leipreachán himself.
A Leipreachán has a box of gold hid in a ditch or under a tree. They don't like to give their gold to anyone.
