    Mick McCrink, aged 83, Ballinamada, Carrickbroad, Dromintee Parish. As far as can be ascertained, Mick and his sister, Mrs. Essie Toal of same parish, were the last Irish speakers in the entire area. Mick died on 22 Feb 1977 and is buried in St. Patrick's cemetery, Dromintee. Married with a family of a boy and a girl who have no Irish. Mick was also a noted step-dancer, singer and whistler of traditional Irish tunes, though not a musician.
