O'Neill forgot them and in a rage the priest exclaimed: "The Curse of Cromwell on you." Poor Neill hadn't gone 100 yds before he dropped down on the road, stricken with rheumatic pains from wh. he never recovered. The priest did all in his power but all in 'vain'. The priest avowed that the word merely slipped from him and that he had no malice in his heart whatsoever.
Some yeomen, captain and privates went to shoot a certain priest in 1798. He asked permission to say his prayers. When he been praying for some moments he said: "Now, gentlemen, fire away if you are able." They couldn't stir hand or foot and remained "tied to the chairs" until the priest willed to release them from the invisible bonds.
