- I have two cows at home. We call them Polly and Betty.
When my father is driving them he shouts "How up" or if they are any distance away when he wants to put them in he shouts "Cow up", and they come running.
When milking the cow you sit at the right hand side.
After milking the cow you put a cross on her side with the milk to thank God for his goodness in giving us such a useful animal.
Some people put a horse show upside down over the door for good(continues on next page)
