- We have a churning-barrel at home. It is large enough to make a firkin of butter. As its name indicates it is barrel shaped and bound with six hoops and in order to twist it around, it is fixed on a stand which is about three feet high. The barrel itself is about four feet long and two feet and half in diameter(continues on next page)
