  1. Long ago there lived a strong man near Abbeyfeale named Sean Burns. His terrible feats of stength is often told by old people who lived in his district. It happened one time when Seán was in his prime, there was stationed in Abbeyfeale a very strong police-man who boasted he would bring any man from Limerick or Kerry to the barracks single handed. The Resident Magristrate heard about this police-man, so he planned with Seán Burns to pretend to be under the influence of drink on a certain day.
