    The teachers knew Irish long ago but they did not speak it at school.
    The teacher had no house of his own. He used to lodge in the nearest town and in some of the houses of the children. The teachers pay was fifty pounds a year.
    The subjects that were taught in the school were Arithmetic, Catechim, reading, goegraphy and history.
