  1. It is nearly a hundred years ago since the night of the big wind. It occurred in January 1839. It knocked the stacks of oats and hay. It lasted twenty-four hours. Some houses were blown down and stock were killed. A lot of trees were knocked. Some people lost there lives that night. There was thunder and lightening and very very heavy
