  1. A churn, we have a churn with a dash at home it is about 3ft high I do not remember, when it was made We churn twise a week in summer and once a week in winter. If a stranger comes in he must take a turn at the churning for fear he would bring the butter My mother takes out the butter put salt in it and makes it into a roll we make (soda) bread of the buttermilk when my mother is starting the churning she puts a pinch of salt in the fire and a pinch in the churn so no one will bring the butter.
