  1. Years ago when St. Patrick came to Ireland I heard the old people of the village say that he came from Balla on his way to the Reek. He must have rested in our village at a waterfall because there is a chair and it is called St. Patrick's chair. It is of limestone shaped like an armchair. In times gone by people used to come from far and near to see it
