    Téighim go dtí an aonach is fillim abhaile gan feoil,
    Ní bheidh meas ar mo chaint ná dís ag glanadh mo bhróg,
    Ach téighim go dtí an aonach agus fillim abhaile le feoil,
    Beidh meas ar mo chaint agus dís ag glanadh mo bhróg.
    If you be poor, be sure no freedom make,
    For you're a fool tho' pure and wise you speak;
    But if you be rich, sprung from a race of clowns,
