    side of the fire there were two hobs for people to sit upon .There was also a crane over the fire to hang the pots and kettles.There was one clevy in each house long ago .Ornaments kept in the clevy.
    The chimney in the houses long ago were not built with cement and brick like we have now.They were made of timber .Sometimes the people had only a hole in the roof of the house ,or a hole with a bucket on top for a chimney .Long ago the cure for a smoky chimney was to hang a bucket in the middle of the chimney.
