    1 "The Good People."
When my grandmother was alive she used to tell me this story. There was a young man living in her townland Ballaghboy. One evening in Autumn about seven o'clock this young man was walking up the road opposite the fort which is in Cnoc an Sgiobóil now called Barnwell.Suddenly he got hungry and very hungry at that.He smelled delicious food from the fort as he got so hungry that he nearly fainted."Oh ,good gracious"says he ,I wish I had that grand food it smells so grand",and just as he had said those words a golden tray of all sorts of meats and fruits in golden dishes came on the road before him. When he was about to eat a lady beckoned to him not to eat ,she was like a girl who had recently died in his own townland. It was good he did not eat ,because he probably would probably have been taken back to the fort with the little men.
