    The Local Patron Saint.
    The patron Saint of this parish is St. Cronin. He was an Augustinian Friar and he and the Friars subject to him lived in Abbey in Inchicronan Island.
    In 1651 General Ludlo having Cromwell's army under his command overran Clare. A battle was fought for possession of Inchicronan Castle at the pass into the Abbey. It is said
